Summertime Goodness

I decided to do a mosaic on the patio outside our mudroom door. After a week into this project....I'm wondering what I got myself into!

I've never done such a large mosaic. And it's been forever since I've played around with the mosaic/tile process.  I totally underestimated how much work this project would be....but I think it will be pretty cool once all finished. If you can't tell (kind of wish I would of done smaller gaps so the image was more clear) the center is a mountain with a blue sky, tree's, and a river. Bordering is a eight pointed star compass pointing in the directions of North, South, East, and West (thanks to the handy dandy Iphone compass to make sure I was correct on that!). A few more river rocks, grout, then and I will be finished. Fshewww!

It's been warm around here (finally!) and the blackberries are ripe and abundant. When you drive down our street you can smell the warm berries in the air. My daughter and I walked down to the creek and gathered enough berries to make a pie. This is one of my favorite summer pastimes!

Nothing like a pie with fresh berries picked just hours before. Yummm.

As for a print shop update. Well, I have some potential BIG NEWS that I'm waiting to hear back on. This could change things quite a bit come November ( I won't be shy about sharing this if it happens!). Also, I'm doing a local artisan show at the beginning of October called Open Studios Beavercreek. It's a fun 3 day show where local artists open their studios for the public to tour, and buy art! I will be set up at a friend's studio with my hand printed goods from One Lane Road. This will be my first show selling my prints. Should be fun!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Labor Day weekend. I sure did! Bbq with good friends, swimming in the creek, boat ride out on the Willamette River, and finished with my sister's bridal shower.
Good times.

Lovely Looks

Here are a few GENIUS ideas that I love. Putting these on my list of DIY projects.

I've always wanted a tree branch on my wall....isn't this a great idea!!?

My dream sun room / enclosed porch. I would love to transform our back porch into this retreat!
                                                         This years pumpkin carving inspiration.
I'm practicing this today. Just drop out the bottom piece as you french braid, and pick a new chunk. So cute!

My husband liked this idea too...oil drip pan magnet board.
Simple little fort made with PVC pipe, curtains, blankets and pillows. My daughter would love this!
Vintage hanky's sewn on a string. I would love to hang this up somewhere in the house. What a great idea!

The last couple weeks I've been drawing like crazy. Not only for my shop, but I'm also designing a few illustrations for an athletic company called Run Pretty Far (more on that later). As for my prints, I have four new ones! I also have a lot more styles of tee's to offer in my shop. Here's a preview of whats to come. These will be available for purchase in about a week.

New Favorites In: Vintage, Print, and Leather

What I've been doing lately. Well.....

I scored loads of vintage finds last weekend. I'm in "awe" of this vintage leather suitcase with travel stickers

In the print shop. I'm having so much fun sketching up tee shirt designs. I just finished this one today and already printed up a few tee's and added them to the shop.

And as for the leather. I've been making quite a few belts and dog collars for people I know lately. All suporting my dog's surgury fund. Here is a custom "Luna" belt I just finished up. Thanks to my friend Dane for the awesome idea!

hope you like!

And my first set of tee shirts are finally here! I will be posting these for sale in my shop early next week. More designs and colors will be coming toward the end of next week.
Camp on!

One Lane Road

What do you do if you have a new crafting addiction that you can't stop making things with? Well, why not open an Etsy shop with it! Okay, so opening an etsy shop has a little more to it than that...but it seems to be ta fantastic solution to my little addictions. I love to make things, and I'm a stay at home mom who lives out in the boonies. I've gone back and forth with the idea of getting a part time job away from home, but my dream of a making a job out of selling my art, and the importance of staying home with my daughter, and the fact that I live 30 minutes from anywhere, has all lead me here. Now being the proud owner of 3 etsy shops! Yes, I've opened a 3rd shop. It's a screen printing shop with all my original designs. I've fallen hard for this craft of screen printing, and I would love to now share it with the world! A lot of the designs will be similar to ones I've used in my leather shop. I plan on starting out with housewares and home decor items, then soon branching out into tshirts and other apparel. I call this little shop, One Lane Road. I hope to have items up in the shop over the next week. http://www.onelaneroad.etsy.com/
